Greenwich Village & Soho

Covering the bohemian districts of SOHO and Greenwich Village this "definitely downtown" tour features  two separate and distinctive tours in one. Starting at Washington Square Park Arch we view the infamous "hanging tree" and the park that once served as a mass grave for thousands of plague victims. We see Aaron Burr's carriage house, now a world famous restaurant, St. Lukes in the Fields, the uptown branch of Trinity Church, the home of Edna St. Vincent Millay, the narrowest house in NY, and the rumored sites of the former underground railroad & CIA safe houses.

On to SOHO, a former industrial district turned arts center and  home of galleries, shops, lofts and restaurants. The walk will take us to Broadway to view many fine examples of 19th Century Cast Iron architecture as well as the trendy.

This tour should appeal to those who have visited New york before and are looking for a more in-depth sophisticated view of the NYC.
